Terms of Use

ENTRUST AI APEX

These are the terms between you and ENTRUST AI for the use of APEX. By signing in to APEX you accept them. They are written to be read, not skimmed; if anything here is unclear, ask at contact@entrustai.co.

What APEX is

APEX is a certification service for writing, used inside ChatGPT. You ask for a piece of writing, or send your own. APEX has it written and then examined against its release rules by independent checks. If it passes, the writing is released with a signed receipt whose certification reads ENTRUST_CEILING. If it does not pass, APEX tells you why and releases nothing.

What a certification means, and what it does not

• ENTRUST_CEILING means the writing passed every check APEX applies, within the scope stated on the receipt: a protocol-bounded certification under the frozen case and recorded search budget. It is not proof that no better text exists.
• APEX checks the writing against what you gave it. It cannot know facts you did not supply, and it does not verify the truth of what you told it about yourself or others.
• APEX is not legal, medical, financial or professional advice, and its certification is not a substitute for it. What you do with a certified text — send it, publish it, rely on it — is your decision and your responsibility.
• Anyone holding a receipt number can check that receipt at entrustai.co/verify. The check proves that the receipt is genuine, signed by APEX, and unaltered since signing. The receipt holds a fingerprint of the certified text, not the text itself, so a text can be matched to its receipt by that fingerprint. It proves nothing else.

Your account

You sign in once, with Google or a code sent to your email, and every run is filed under your account. Keep your sign-in to yourself; runs made through it are yours. You must be at least 13 to use APEX, and at least 18 to enter these terms for a business.

Your text

What you send to APEX stays yours, and what APEX releases to you is yours to use. You give ENTRUST AI only the permission it needs to store, process and examine your text in order to run the service, as the privacy policy describes. Do not send text you have no right to send.

Acceptable use

Do not use APEX to produce writing that is unlawful, that defames, harasses or threatens anyone, that impersonates a person or organisation, or that infringes someone else's rights. Do not try to probe, overload or interfere with the service, or to obtain another person's runs or receipts. We may end access for misuse.

Cost

• Free replies. A new account receives 3 replies free.
• Packs. After that, replies are bought in packs: 10 for $29, or 100 for $199, in US dollars. The price is shown by Stripe, our payment provider, before you pay. Replies you buy are added to your account when Stripe confirms the payment.
• When a reply is used. A certified reply uses one. A check of your own text exactly as it stands uses one whether it is certified or refused, because the findings are the result. A refusal of text APEX wrote does not use one, for your first three such refusals in any 24 hours; further refusals in that window do. If APEX breaks down, nothing is used.
• Starting a request. A reply is set aside when a run starts and given back if it is not used, so a request needs one available reply to start.
• Questions about a charge. Write to apex-support@entrustai.co.

Availability

APEX depends on services we do not control — ChatGPT, OpenAI's models, and the hosting and database providers named in the privacy policy. We aim to keep it working and to tell you plainly when a run breaks down, but we do not promise that it is always available, always fast, or free of faults. A broken-down run releases nothing and is reported to you as such.

Limits of our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, ENTRUST AI is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of APEX or from your reliance on a certified text, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using APEX at any time and can ask us to delete your account as the privacy policy describes. We can suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, and will say why.

Changes

If these terms change, the effective date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect. Using APEX after a change accepts it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and any dispute is brought in the courts of New York.
